Fostering Fear: Examining the roots of anti-muslim discourse

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM formerly Cair-Can), in collaboration with NASR and other organizations, are bringing two well respected authors to their annual dinner in Toronto.

This is an evening panel discussion with Nathan Lean and Doug Sanders to discuss the roots of anti-muslim sentiment that has evolved in the media. In addition, special guest Jonathan Kay will be in attendance.

Unfortunately, we have all witnessed a growing sense of anti-Muslim and anti-Islam attitudes from time to time. Nathan Lean and Doug Sanders have documented this phenomenon in two different books and they will talk about why some people are trying to foster an anti-Muslim agenda (in Canada, US and Europe).

National Council of Canadian Muslims is our Canadian Muslim communities’ premier advocacy group. We need to support them and their programs or we will lose an important voice for our diverse Muslim communities.

The event will be in downtown Toronto at the Sheraton Center, on October 26th. Tickets are $30 per person and include dinner.
